At 9:56 AM on August 13, 2026, the reporter observed a USPS van blocking the bike lane on 500 North near 371 West 500 North, just south of the rec center. The reporter stated that the van blocked drivers’ view of pedestrians entering the crosswalk from the south and obscured cyclists’ view of vehicles turning onto 500 North from the south, as well as pedestrians entering the crosswalk. The reporter described the parking location as particularly dangerous and noted that people have been hit and killed there in the past.
