On July 8, 2026 at 12:11 PM, the reporter was driving eastbound on 500 North and turning left into the recreation center when they saw a pedestrian activate the flashing crosswalk lights. The pedestrian looked toward a westbound minivan that appeared far enough away to stop, then entered the crosswalk. According to the reporter, the minivan did not slow down, swerved around the pedestrian, and continued driving, passing “probably 1ft” away.
