Report summary
A clear summary of the submitted report.
On July 19, 2026 at 10:00 PM, the reporter was bicycling east across University Avenue at Foothill Drive, starting from the west side of the intersection after waiting at a red light. The signal turned yellow and then red while the reporter was only halfway across the five-lane crossing, which they described as a very short signal phase. As the reporter entered the easternmost northbound lane, a Domino’s delivery car accelerated when its light turned green and swerved around the bicycle; the reporter braked abruptly to avoid hitting the driver-side door. The reporter said they were less than a foot from being struck and had an ultra-bright headlight and taillight on. The driver yelled from the vehicle and drove away.
