On July 28, 2026 at 5:27 PM, the reporter encountered a car stopped in the bike lane at 1055 North 500 West, just off Cougar and State/500 West, during very busy traffic. The car blocked both the bike lane and the buffer between the bike and vehicle lanes, making it impossible to ride around it, and also blocked bus access. The vehicle remained there for at least a couple of minutes, so the reporter stopped, got off the bicycle, and walked it onto the sidewalk because of heavy traffic and nearby vehicles turning onto 500 West.
