On March 25, 2026 at 8:10 AM, the reporter was crossing 800 North at 700 West with children on the way to Timpanogos Elementary when a white van marked “Wasatch Transportation” nearly struck them and a crossing guard. The reporter estimated the van was traveling about 40 mph through the school zone despite the crossing guard standing in the crosswalk with a raised stop sign. The driver reportedly braked hard and stopped after the crossing guard and pedestrians were already in the crosswalk.
